The IG Club owes a huge debt  of gratitude to JENNIFER MIDHAGE who founded and financed the setting up of the original websiteSadly, Jenny passed away in July 2005, after a short illness. She will never be forgotten by the Italian Greyhound Club, and this site is a fitting memorial to her.

A Wonderful year in the life of two dogs

Our Walks are round the streets with a short spell off lead on a green, or round a large recreation ground,

which is much more fun as we get to chase off the crows and seagulls, meet our doggy friends, then into a

wooded area where the squirrels like to tease us by running along the fence then jumping over us onto the trees.

Sometimes we get to chase them on the path but they always get away!

Weekends are our favourite as we get to go in the car to one of our local Country Parks. Today we have our

jackets on as it is quite chilly.

March. Great activity tonight - bath, nail clipping, teeth cleaning, bags being packed - must be something exciting!

Early start, now we have arrived and are joined by lots of other dogs and owners. Discover Dogs at Birmingham

NEC was a new experience for us both and our owners. Several of our I.G. friends and their owners joined us on

the stand. The whole day we were all stroked and made a great fuss of. We all went home very tired but happy

after such an enjoyable day.

April. Club Show Day. Another opportunity to meet up with our doggy friends and their various owners.

At the end of the show our owners were given the Ch Shirnevina Once Upon a Time Shield for Best Blue Bitch

(Hanjy Hexotic or Bronte my pet name).

We are now in Bradford-on-Avon Nr. Bath on a glorious sunny day and walking along a canal towpath enjoying

the smells and scenery. If we are lucky we will stop for a lunch break and have the odd titbit while our owners

watch the narrow boats pass by. Great! Today it is a taste of ice cream!

Now it is May and we are off to Dingley Woods nr. Market Harborough for our walk amongst the bluebells. This year the

weather was really warm and sunny. We are now at a Country  Park, which is around Pitsford Reservoir, Northants.

While our owners watch the sailing boats racing across the water we are busy exploring the smells and checking around all the

seats in case a crumb or crisp has been dropped!

June is here and while the bags are packed and put in the car we are getting excited and anxious that we too are going on

holiday. We had lunch at Chester and walked under the famous clock. We are staying in a chalet set in woods, at Colwyn

Bay in Wales. Not much sunshine but that meant beach, just for us dogs to run and play every day. We went on a vintage

bus around the Great Orme. At Conway, we walked around the city walls and had a boat trip.

We spent a whole day with Melie, Satin, Silky and Jake. We explored the garden and tried out all their beds and chairs. As usual,

on holiday, we attracted lots of attention wherever we went and loved the fuss, especially from the children. Amber our cat

was waiting in the hall on our return, but not sure she liked being nuzzled and licked by us both so enthusiastically!!

July is time for Fun Day at Oxford . Here I am Bronte in my fairy outfit. Cara loved the games where she got to eat sausages!

Another great day out.

Were Off to Fineshade Wood, near Stamford , Lincs. Lovely hot sunny day and it's great to run in the woods. Our owners

are looking in the sky for Red Kites. They have nested here again this season. In the RSPB shop they have a video of the

fledglings being fed in the nest. August, you can find us at Holcot Steam Rally lapping up all the attention and having  our

pictures taken. This weekend we are at Marsden Green for the Championship Show. Lovely day out for us and our

owners, meeting up with our friends.

The suitcase is out again and we are off to Broadstairs and Ramsgate in Kent .  Wonderful sunshine and a chance to meet

people who stop and admire us as we walk around. We sat on our owners' laps and listened to the band play. Glad to

have a sleep in the car while they enjoyed a fish and chip dinner. They returned with a tiny taste for us two, which

was greatly appreciated. Today we are at Salcey  Forest to explore a tree top walk. Our owners enjoyed the experience

of being on top of the trees with a fantastic view over to the town of  Northampton in the distance. We had a great time

and met a cheeky boxer puppy that kept running between his mother's legs and chasing us for a kiss!

Autumn - a time to run and play in the leaves and come back to lay by the fire, sleep and dream of all the wonderful places

we have visited throughout the year.
